5 Celebrity Stylists You Should Know

We know how opaque the fashion industry can be. With so many people trying to break into it, whilst juggling multiple jobs, trying to pick up unpaid ‘portfolio’ work, and struggling to pay rent along the way. We somehow are meant to find the time to become experts on the industry at the same time, to know all the right names and know the creative teams behind projects even though most of the time they haven’t been publicly credited bar the one clout-y model or CD whose name is boosting the project.

So we’ve decided that every month we’ll give you a mini introduction to the people who are working behind the scenes to bring the fashion industry to life. The writers behind the viral headlines, the stylists behind the viral looks and the makeup artists keeping everyone looking good.

Today we’re starting with 5 game-changing stylists that you should have on your radar! The press tends to cover red carpets by literally crediting the celebrity as having ‘amazing style’ and the designers for making beautiful pieces - the stylists who actually pulled everything together tend to go without mention, and actually we have found that for friends outside of the industry, people may not even know that the stylist existed. They think celebrities still pick out their own garments.

Meet Dara

Dara is a celebrity stylists who’s singular client is the ever-euphoric Hunter Schafer. Hunters red carpet looks have been absolutely stunning lately and have redefined the rule book. Dara is also the extremely busy fashion director of Interview Magazine, where you can see her work scattered across its pages. We think her style is really magical, dreamy and kind of doesn’t conform to the idea of being a basic human being, but takes us somewhere further than that boring practicality. Which we love.

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca Corbin-Murray has a roster of celebrities in her books: Florence Pugh, Lily James, Priyanka Chopra, Gemma Chan… some of her signature items are bold power suits which are always a success in our mind and a slightly edgier take on glamour with plenty of interesting textures and bejewelling. We think Florence Pugh’s red carpet style has been a perfect example of this glamour and gowns that still incorporates modern features like cut outs, platforms sleek hair styling and makeup.

Meet Law

Okay, this is one that you will know. Thanks to Zendaya’s phenomenal fashion we’ve all become familiar with the iconic Law Roach. Zendaya is actually his only non-editorial client but even one client is enough for him to flex his styling muscles very impressively. From the archive Margiela robot for Dune to the tennis tributes for Challengers - he kills it literally every time with the boldest looks in the room. He’s been working magic in the industry for years so we love seeing him get more of the attention that stylists deserve.

Meet Andrew

Andrew Mukamal is a stunningly diverse stylist. Who has created some of this years most iconic looks. For your reference he styles the classic, minimal perfection of Zoë Kravitz, the playful, masculine, icon-status wardrobe of Billie Eiliish AND the absolutely iconic barbie-tiemed press tour looks worn by Margot Robbie. IF theres one thing this man can do it’s work to a brief, and leave no crumbs.

Meet Zerina

She’s Beyonce’s personal stylist.

Thats all we need to say.

When you think about the iconic looks on Beyonce’s instagram, and the aboluely stunning maternity photo that announced the twins - that was all her. She has worked with Chloe x Halle too and multiple fashion publications.

And what makes her even more iconic is that she worked all the way up to Queen Bey level from starting as an intern organising the sample closet. Obsessed.

Iconic Moments need Iconic Stylists

Stylists play such a pivotal role in the way that the fashion industry works today. Truly the ground breaking, iconic, scroll stopping moments that disrupt the norm are hugely in credit to them. So let’s give a thanks to the stylists who are such a big part of our photoshoots, our celerity inspo, our red carpet memories, our films and everything else!

Stay tuned for 5 more insiders to put on your radar next month!
